Analysis of wind power generation operation management risk in China

چکیده
The Chinese government has made an important effort to diversify the country’s energy mix and exploit different sources of renewable energy. Although China’s installed wind power capacity has undergone a dramatic expansion over the past six years, the electricity generated from wind power has not increased as expected. Meanwhile, operational risks, such as high generation cost, mismatch between capacity and generation, intermittent wind power generation, power grid construction lag, deficient policy, and operation mechanism, have become increasingly prominent. If not controlled, these risks will negatively affect wind power development in China. Therefore, this paper established a quantitative analysis model of wind power operation management risk from two aspects, feed-in tariff and grid electricity (electricity being connected to the grid), based on an analysis of wind power operation management risk in China. Moreover, this study quantitatively assessed the risk of the operational management of a wind farm in Inner Mongolia. Finally, corresponding risk control strategies for the healthy development of wind power generation in China were proposed. 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Risk Analysis and Economic Load Dispatch Evaluation of Network with High Wind Power Penetration
This study based on investigation for integration wind power into conventional power system with its impact on fossil fuel generators and their generation management. Wind power as environmental friendly energy source can reduce the operational cost of the system due to considering no cost for energizing the generator in comparing with fossil fuel generators. However due to unpredictable nature...
متن کاملReturn on Investment in Transmission Network Expansion Planning Considering Wind Generation Uncertainties Applying Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm
Although significant private investment is absorbed in different sectors of power systems, transmission sector is still suffering from appropriate private investment. This is because of the pricing policies of transmission services, tariffs, and especially for investment risks. Investment risks are due to the uncertain behaviour of power systems that discourage investors to invest in the transm...
متن کاملCombined Use of Sensitivity Analysis and Hybrid Wavelet-PSO- ANFIS to Improve Dynamic Performance of DFIG-Based Wind Generation
In the past few decades, increasing growth of wind power plants causes different problems for the power quality in the grid. Normal and transient impacts of these units on the power grid clearly indicate the need to improve the quality of the electricity generated by them in the design of such systems. Improving the efficiency of the large-scale wind system is dependent on the control parameter...
متن کاملTwo-Stage Stochastic Day-Ahead Market Clearing in Gas and Power Networks Integrated with Wind Energy
The significant penetration rate of wind turbines in power systems made some challenges in the operation of the systems such as large-scale power fluctuations induced by wind farms. Gas-fired plants with fast starting ability and high ramping can better handle natural uncertainties of wind power compared to other traditional plants. Therefore, the integration of electrical and natural gas syste...
متن کاملIncorporating Wind Power Generation And Demand Response into Security-Constrained Unit Commitment
Wind generation with an uncertain nature poses many challenges in grid integration and secure operation of power system. One of these operation problems is the unit commitment. Demand Response (DR) can be defined as the changes in electric usage by end-use customers from their normal consumption patterns in response to the changes in the price of electricity over time. Further, DR can be also d...
